Charities
We take pride in being part of and taking part in our community.Fas Mart employees play an active role in their communities by contributing to and supporting a variety of charitable and not-for-profit organizations, such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The August charity partner is the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Also, Hanover County VA stores host can cottages for customer to drop off aluminum cans. Proceeds benefit Hanover Habitat for Humanity. In the past we have collected for the March of Dimes, People to People, COTA (Childrens Organ Transplant Association) and the Red Cross Tsunami relief fund. Below is a nice note from the Richmond area MDA family.
Dear Fas Mart Family,
We have had the great pleasure of meeting so many of you fine folks. We have visited many of the Fas Mart stores and noticed all the hard work you have put into selling the shamrocks.
We are just one of many families affected by Muscular Dystrophy, as three of my four children are affected with this neuromuscular disease. On behalf of all families with Muscular Dystrophy, I want to encourage you to continue to sell those shamrocks like never before, as we only have a few weeks left. The money you raise helps to make life easier for families like ours. You make it possible for families to recieve assistance with the purchase of wheelchairs, leg braces, flu shots, and the most important thing, MDA Summer Camp. At summer camp, children have the time of their life. Your hard work makes this possible. I also would like to invite you to come and visit MDA camp the week of June 13, in Wakefield. It would be good for you to experience camp, and see for yourself what all of your hard work has accomplished.
We wish you continued success so that your goal may be reached and you can help many families like ours Please feel free to contact me if we could help you in any way.
Thank you for all of the support you have given to MDA. Love and Prayers,
Joy Elliott and Family.
