Fas Mart GRAND SLAM KID PROGRAM RETURNS FOR 2008

Richmond, VA - Fas Mart Stores, the Richmond Braves, the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan are pleased to announce the return of the "Fas Mart Grand Slam Kid" program. The program recognizes young people from Central Virginia who excel in school, sports, and community involvement. Five monthly winners will be honored at R-Braves home games from April to August. One of those five will be selected as the Fas Mart Grand Slam Kid of the Year.Each monthly winner will receive a $500 account in the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan. The FasMart Grand Slam Kid of the Year will receive an additional $2,500 in the Virginia 529 College Savings Plan. Rules and a printable nomination form are available at www.rbraves.com. A letter outlining the academic, athletic, and community achievements of each nominee is required along with the nomination form. The letter should be no longer than one page.
The 2007 Fas Mart Grand Slam Kid of the Year was Grayson Tucker from Cosby High School. Month winners included Melissa Snyder (April), Lindsay Fender (May), Cameron Kiddy (June), Taylor Nelson (July), and Tucker (August).

GPM Investments to Donate $60,000 to Local Richmond Charities

HomeAgain and Childhelp Receive ContributionsRICHMOND, February 1, 2008 - GPM Investments, LLC, which operates the Fas Mart convenience stores announced today that it will donate $60,000 raised from its 8th Annual Golf Outing and Auction held last fall to two local charities, HomeAgain and ChildHelp.
Dave McComas, chief executive officer of Fas Mart, will present the checks to the organizations on Friday, February 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Fas Mart Store 14, 10300 Sliding Hill Road, Ashland, Va. 23005.
Fas Mart will donate $40,000 to HomeAgain, a local organization that assists homeless families and individuals by providing emergency and transitional shelter. The group provides 150 beds and related support services to homeless men, women and children each year, as well as programs designed to build skills necessary for them to return to permanent housing.
Fas Mart will also donate $20,000 to Childhelp, part of a national organization which works with abused and neglected children to address their emotional, educational and spiritual needs. The organization focuses its efforts on providing advocacy, prevention, treatment and community outreach.
"A core operating principle of our company has always been to actively support our local community," said McComas. "We are truly honored to support these fine organizations which do so much to make a difference in people's lives."
Fas Mart is a regional convenience store chain with 205 company operated locations. Last year, Fas Mart donated an additional $135,000 to various local charities, bringing its total contribution to $195,000.

Richmond Braves announce Grand Slam Kid of the year!
